Ionization and toroidal dispersal of laser blow-off injected aluminium beam in the MT-1M Tokamak

Abstract

Aluminium impurities were injected into the plasma of the MT-1M Tokamak. Line radiation of different aluminium ions (from Al I to Al VIII) were identified. Two velocities were found for the toroidal dispersal: one is of the order of 0.1 cm μs-1 for a few centimetres in the vicinity of the injection, the other is higher than 1 cm μs-1 for the whole Tokamak.
