Abstract

The mechanism of benzene hydrogenation has been studied by a radiotracer method, reacting mixtures of benzene-14C and inactive cyclohexadiene in the presence of Fe, Ni, Ru, Rh, Pd, Os, Ir, Pt and Re using a pulse type microreactor. Cyclohexene was found among the products. Suggestions have been made concerning the applicability and limitations of the radiotracer method applied.
