Abstract

Authors investigated, at molecular level, among the features of commercial EPDM rubbers, the ethylene/propylene proportion using the method of IR-spectroscopy, the molecular mass and its distribution, respectively, using gel-permeation chromatography. Relations have been found between distributiveness of types of EPDM in PP and the mentioned features. Most advantageous for an increase of shock-proofness is a type with high Ethylen proportion, low Mooney-viscosity and broad distribution of the molecular mass.
