Abstract

The degree of fluorescence polarization (p) was investigated for prolate molecules in solvents of different viscosity (η) over the temperature (T) range 283 to 313 K. The decay times (τ) for these solvents were also measured. The linear dependence of 1/p on τT η was confirmed for oligophenyl compounds.
