Abstract

Systems formed by crystalline monomer and polymer can be characterized by their phase diagram. From the view point of the composition, this diagram can be divided into two main parts at a certain ratio designated here as M//k//r. At polymer contents higher than M//k//r, the system shows the behavior of plasticized polymers. At polymer ratios lower than this value, crystalline monomer appears in the system. In this latter case the phase condition means the thermodynamic relationship of the crystalline monomer and the plasticized M//k//r composition polymer therefore can be explained as a solubility function. 9 refs.
