Abstract

DTG(M), X-ray diffraction and IR spectroscopic methods were used for investigation of the solid state reaction in 3Y2O3:5Fe2O3 mixture. The main steps of the reactions were proved by all three methods, but every one has special advantages. Reaction started at 700°C [DTG(M), IR-spectroscopy]. YFeO3 reached its maximum at 1100°C [DTG(M), X-ray], here the product mainly consisted of YIG and YFeO3 (all three methods).
