Intracavity noncollinear second harmonic generation of Nd-YAG laser light

Abstract

Noncollinear second harmonic generation was demonstrated on a specially shaped LiIO3 crystal, placed inside the closed cavity of a Q-switched Nd-YAG laser. The second harmonic light is emitted from the resonator in an out-of-axis direction with an extremely low divergence as long as the fundamental laser light totally remains inside the cavity.
