Abstract

Interruption of pregnancy was carried out by extraovularly administered PGF2α in the case of 38, 17-37 yr old healthy women in the first trimester of pregnancy, PG was administered in every second hour in doses of 250-1000 μg depending on the frequency and the intensity of the uterine contractions and on the side effects. In 26 cases the abortion took place in 36 hr (on the average 21.6 hr). This is 68.4% efficiency. The quantity of PGF2α used was 2.25 to 14.75 mg, on the average 6.72 mg. There were side effects in 27 cases, but they did not hinder the intermittent PG administration. There were no essential changes in the results of the laboratory tests.
