Internalization and cytotoxicity assays of transferrin complexes into stem cell-like glioblastoma cells

Abstract

Transferrin-iron(III)-anion complexes internalization and cytotoxic effects were determinedonglioblastoma cells. The Tf-complexes cellular uptake was followed by fluorescent labelling of the protein. Cellular incorporation testshows the highest efficacy of transferrin-iron-bicarbonatecomplex. The induced cell membrane demageand the decrease of mitochondrial activity prove the aziridine-carboxylate toxicity on stem cell-like glioblastomamulti formebrain cancer cells.
