This work investigates the mode-II and mixed-mode I/II interlaminar fracture in ELS (end-loaded split) specimens within the scope of linear elastic fracture mechanics. Glass/polyester specimens were manufactured and tested. Higher beam theories were utilized to calculate the fracture properties of the specimens. Experiments were performed using a special testing fixture. Comparison between analysis and experiment shows good agreement. According to this the beam theory-based equations can be applied as practical data reduction schemes.
