Interferometric multiplexing scheme for excimer amplifiers

Abstract

A novel optical multiplexing method based on a combination of Sagnac interferometers is presented, providing automatic recombination of the multiplexed beams with interferometric accuracy. Arrangements, using amplitude, polarization and geometrical splitting and their combinations are considered. Preliminary experiments for two and four multiplexed beams are performed, using a commercial KrF amplifier in the off-axis amplification geometry.
