A new calculation method is presented for the determination of the transmittancy of a single thick plate and the empty etalon of the Fabry-Perot interferometer. For the single thick plate a short, closed formula and for the Fabry-Perot etalon an infinite series were deduced. The determination of the constants of the series is based on graph theory. The transmittancy was investigated in the case of three optical materials, NaCl, KRS-5 (thallium iodideUthallium bromide) and Ge, respectively. The agreement between the experimental and calculated data is very good.
