Interdiffusion and63Ni tracer diffusion in Ni3(AlGe) compounds: Estimation of Al diffusivity

Abstract

Mutual diffusion experiments were performed between Ni3Al and Ni3Ge diffusion couples. From the marker movement the intrinsic diffusion coefficients were evaluated. In addition volume diffusion of 63Ni tracer in the ternary Ni3(AlGe) compounds has been measured. Furthermore we present an approach based on a relation between the intrinsic and tracer diffusivities which was used to estimate the Al diffusivity.
