Bismuth deposition onto polycrystalline Pd surfaces has been studied in 0.5 M H2SO4, 1 M HClO4 and 1 M HCl supporting electrolyte and it has been shown that a spontaneous interaction (probably alloy formation) takes place between Bi deposit and Pd substrate. The Bi/Pd atomic ratio could be increased up to about 0.6. Irreversible Bi adsorption on Pd substrate has been demonstrated.
