Intelligent content in system level model of industrial cyber physical system

Abstract

Contextually integrated system level active model system replaces conventional passive and slightly integrated physical level model as computer representation of industrial product or other engineering structure in these years. Recent leading industrial modeling systems have advanced capabilities such as representation cooperating systems which operate cyber physical system (CPS) and deep knowledge driven self-modification of model system for changed outside and inside contexts. As contribution to research efforts in this area this paper reports research results in representation of full featured organized driving knowledge and information to raise object definition into higher level in engineering model system of CPS. This organized intelligent content is configured among others to establish connection between virtually represented and physically existing CPSs. To prepare this work, new extended model of cyber physical system was defined and analyzed. Extension included cyber units of physically existing CPS product and CPS which was applied at manufacturing of this product. The organized driving knowledge was defined as new unit of industrially proven model system. It was called as Intelligent Knowledge Content and had capabilities to drive contextual object parameters in model system. Intelligent Knowledge Content is organized in multilevel structure with substructures in each level. Formerly published content structure was restructured and extended by new substructures to accommodate content for cooperating systems in CPS and to establish connection with CPS cyber units. The reported work is highly based on recent industrial engineering modeling and model systems where active knowledge is theoretically grounded, and experience proven. Finally, this paper outlines the concept of mixed area engineering project to integrate representations for industrial engineering, engineering research, and higher education in engineering in the same model system.
