Integrated international and regional services for interventional cardiology

Abstract

The use of an Internet communication infrastructure for treatment of percutaneous transluminal balloon angioplasty (PTCA) patients is presented to overcome the drawbacks of interventional cardiology. INTERCARDIO project would use Internet based multimedia dynamic image storage and forwarding system to provide quality treatment for the patients having angina. The available angiography would provide valuable comparison in the progress of cardiovascular disease and support medical professionals to access interactive tools for evidence based medicine. The project signifies the need to develop a database to evaluate all clinical data and reflect pretreatment and follow-up condition of patients.
