Abstract

The corrosion of aluminium (99.5%) and aluminium-magnesium-silicon alloys has been studied in alkaline solutions with chloride ions. The protective effects of silatranes {A figure is presented} have been investigated. The corrosion rates of the aluminium and the inhibition efficiences of the applied compounds were determined by weight-loss and electrochemical measurements.
