Abstract

The pyrolysis was investigated of three Romaschkino gasoline fractions of different boiling ranges in a small-scale technical tubular reactor. The tests were carried out with constant supply of gasoline and steam, at approximately equal outlet temperature (794 and 798 degree C, resp. ), and with the adjustment of two different temperature profiles. It was found that the yields of the main pyrolysis products are differing and that these differences are greater in the case of more severe reaction conditions. By shifting the temperature profile towards the isothermic profile, the yields of ethylene and aromatics can be considerably increased while simultaneously the propylene and butene yields decrease.
