Abstract

In the γ- and 3 MeV α-radiolysis of C5-C10 cycloalkanes the slopes of the straight lines obtained by plotting the cycloalkene yields as a function of the dimer yields were shown to deviate significantly from the k(d)/k(c) values determined in radical scavenging experiments. This deviation indicates that both the yield of the radical reactions and the unimolecular cycloalkene formation reaction is dependent on the type of the radiation.
