Abstract

Average body weight of the offspring of thymectomized mother rats was significantly less than normal at the age of 17-20 days. At other ages the weight difference was less pronounced, though the mortality rate of such offspring seemed to be doubled. As compared to the controls, the sham operation itself decreased the thymus weight.
