Abstract

The Quantec portable spectrometer uses isotope selective in-situ non-destructive gamma-spectrometry for monitoring corrosive particles and impurities on the inner walls of primary loops. The process from Quantec Technologies of Austria, developed for the PAKS VVER PWR in Hungary, is described. The specific activities of the particles and impurities can be scanned and determined. Measurements made using the system and its benefits are discussed. Potential applications are also considered. (P.M.Taylor)
