Impact modification of thermosets

Abstract

The impact modification of brittle thermosets with liquid rubber is relatively expensive. An inexpensive alternative is to use hydrothermally decomposed polyurethane as the modifier. The process was tested with the aid of two epoxy resin grades and compared with the conventional method.
