Authors report their results and experience gained in the last five years with Holmium:Yag lasertripsy in the treatment of ureteric stones. In this study 137 transurethral uretero-lithotripsy (TUL) were performed. A Holmium-Yttrium-Aluminium-Garnet laser equipment, 360 and 550 micrometer thick fibers, video camera, semirigid and flexible ureterorenoscopes were used. The succes rate of the treatment in the upper ureter was 82%, in the mid ureter 88,7% and in the lower ureter 94,8%. The pulsatile Holmium.\ag laser beam fragmented all kind of stones easily. Authors demonstrate the advantages and disadvantages of this energy source. During follow-up period neither ureteric stricture nor reflux were noticed.
