Hole pairing giant resonances

Abstract

A two-hole pairing collective (TDA) state built upon deep lying single-hole states is calculated to be strongly excited in the reaction 208Pb(p,t)206Pb. This state lies at about 12 MeV of excitation energy above 206Pb(gs). It is a "hole pairing giant resonance".
