High stability external cavity diode laser system for photoacoustic gas detection

Abstract

In this paper, we present a photoacoustic system for high sensitivity water vapor detection. The system is based on specially designed external cavity diode laser. The laser has a 200 GHz mode-hopping free tuning range, narrow linewidth, and high (better than 60 MHz/h) long-term frequency stability. The PA system was demonstrated to have a sub-ppm detection limit for water vapor.
