High pT Spectra of Identified Particles Produced in Pb+Pb Collisions at 158 GeV/nucleon Beam Energy

Abstract

Transverse momentum spectra of π±, p, over(p, -), K±, Ks0 and Λ at midrapidity were measured at high pT in Pb+Pb collisions at 158 GeV/nucleon beam energy by the NA49 experiment. Particle yield ratios (p / π, K / π and Λ / Ks0) show an enhancement of the baryon/meson ratio for pT > 2 GeV / c. The nuclear modification factor RCP is extracted and compared to RHIC measurements and pQCD calculations.
