Abstract

The behaviour of polycrystalline C60 has been studied at ambient and high pressure using synchrotron X-ray angle and energy dispersive diffraction. The specimen was found to have the fcc structure with stacking faults. The sample was observed to become amorphous at approximately 100 kbar, in contrast to previous experiments on higher quality material.
