Abstract

Liver and yolk sac smears and/or histological preparations obtained from 6.5 to 22 mm crown to rump length (second mth of intrauterine life) intact human embryos are presented. The morphological inhomogeneity of early, unprocessed free haemopoietic progenitor cells of the liver is emphasized, and the peculiar location of apparently similar cells at the yolk sac entoderm is mentioned.
