Hadrochemistry in relativistic mean fields

Abstract

In the framework of a relativistic mean field theory we calculated the production rate of kaons in heavy ion collisions by the thermal reaction Nπ → ΛK. We found that the scalar mean field increases this rate decreasing henceforth the difference in predictions for kaon yield from hadronic and quark-gluon plasma models.
