Group surveys for anomalies of the sex chromosomes in male mental patients (Hungarian)

Research output: Contribution to journalArticle

In studies on 310 patients, female chromatin (Barr test) buccal mucous smears stained with thionin, and Y chromatin in peripheral blood smears stained with quinacrine were studied fluorescently. Two patients with Klinefelter's syndrome and one with YY syndrome were found; the former patients showed demonstrable mental impairment in the form of psychopathic personalities, whilst the patient with the YY syndrome was a paranoid schizophrenic.
