Grand unification signal from ultrahigh energy cosmic rays?

Abstract

The interaction of protons with photons in the cosmic microwave background radiation (CMBR) was analyzed. The spectrum of ultrahigh energy cosmic rays was found to be consistent with the decay of grand unification scale particles. The mass of the X particle mx was then measured and its effects on the interactions were observed.
