Abstract

Journal gatekeeping of chemistry implies of the determining factors of the whole publication of journal papers in chemistry. French scientist, de Condolle, a very productive research iologist realized that no single person can appreciate completely and impartially all works published in different fields of science. The journal gatekeeping process has a built-in automatic feedback mechanism that works to increase its strength and power within science in relation to social and political forces. The gatekeepers automatically and instinctively shatre a common goal of which the main component is the value system and the national educational background they were socialized with. The invisible college of science journal gatekeepers is a decisive factor in the self-organizing system of US worldwide publication activity in chemistry.
