Fuzzy supported object oriented Petri nets at various levels of manufacturing process planning

Abstract

This paper discusses the use of Petri nets for the purpose of modeling a manufacturing process plan. The aim is to develop advanced tools for decision support at CAD/CAPP/CAM and flexible manufacturing systems. First the decision making process and activities are analyzed then a novel approach to knowledge based decision making methodology for planning of manufacturing processes is described. Finally the most important features of the problem solving methodology based on that approach are outlined.
