Abstract

Upon the effect of high-voltage electric discharges in benzene, toluene, and other aromatic liquids, carbonization occurs, and different PAHs and C60 are formed as intermediates. The distribution and time profile of the PAHs depend on the initial substance and on the "inert" gas (N2, Ar, CO2) applied.
