Abstract

The paper gives an overview of a number of successful research and development projects in the area of geometric measurement covering different features in the manufacturing industry. The various instruments presented in the subsequent paragraphs are used either by calibration laboratories or quality control departments of manufacturing companies. Each description starts with a short specification, followed by the high lights of the instrument and its design. The discussion of each paragraph is concluded with giving the measurement uncertainty of the instrument.
