Fitting of Lorentzian to Mössbauer spectra by non-iterative method

A method for fitting a Lorentzian function in which iterative procedures are not needed is presented. The method utilizes a linearization technique of the Lorentzian function and the standard linear least-squares fitting. The validity of the proposed method has been successfully tested against the experimental Mössbauer spectrum, and a comparison with the conventional iterative least-squares method has been made.
