Fine structure of cytoplasmic deposits observed in primary human liver carcinoma

Abstract

The electronmicroscopy and electronhistochemistry of deposits observed in 2 cases of primary liver carcinoma were examined. It appeared, that these particles are formed by filaments consisting of fine granules, 70 Å in diameter. The results of the analysis suggested that they are products of the rough endoplasmic reticulum, while occurrence indicates an impairment of the R.E.R. The deposits - as revealed by an enzymatic-digestion technique- consist of complex material, the protein component of which contains large quantities of basic aminoacids.
