Fe2+ spin-crossover complexes: Structure and positron annihilation

Abstract

Positron lifetime and 1H spin-lattice relaxation time measurements for 1-alkyl-1H-tetrazole Fe2+ and Zn2+ complexes showed that the activation of certain intramolecular motions and the temperature of the spin-crossover (for Fe2+ complexes) are in close relation. For the zinc-propyltetrazole complex a structural change is detectable around 70 K by both of the applied techniques.
