Abstract

The principles of the fault tolerant control of the remote PCM switching system, PRS, are summarized. After a brief introduction to the system, the standby strategies in the two main functional units (PRC ad PRT) are described, each of them having their own control system. The fault detection methods are also mentioned. The last part discusses the most important components of the diagnostic software.
