Excitation function of alpha-particle induced nuclear reactions on natural nickel

Abstract

Excitation functions have been measured for alpha-particle induced nuclear reactions on natural nickel leading to the formation of 62,63,65Zn, 60,61,67Cu, 57Ni and 57Co up to 25 MeV using the activation method. The status of corresponding cross sections measured earlier has been reviewed and compared with the data presented in this work. The application of the studied excitation functions in radioisotope production, activation techniques and monitoring of charged particle beams is discussed.
