Evidence for interference effects in electron emission from H2 colliding with 60 MeV/u Kr34+ ions

Abstract

Interferences in electron emission from H2 using 60 MeV/u Kr34+ were observed. First, model calculations were performed to determine the spectral region where interferences can be expected. It was shown that the high projectile velocity of about 50 a.u. is advantageous as it enhances the visibility of interference effects. The measured electron spectra exhibit oscillatory structures in agreement with the model predictions.
