Evaluation of the insecticidal and insect repellent effects of achillea santolina

Abstract

The ethanolic extract and the volatile oil of Achillea suntolina was investigated for possible insecticidal and insect repellent activities. The volatile oil of the plant produced insecticidal and insect repellent activities on both domestic flies and honeybees. The ethanolic extract did not produce any insecticidal or repellent activity against larvae of potato tuber worm, on worker groups of honeybee and on domestic flies by applying three different methods.
