In connection with the otoneurologic examination of the disturbances of equilibrium associated to locomotor diseases, useful experiences both in diagnosis and therapy have been collected by the authors. Differentiation with approximate exactitude is possible whether the disturbance of the patient's equilibrium is connected with a locomotor disease or a peripheral vestibular, or eventually a central vascular damage is in the background of the complaints. In the authors' opinion, and on the basis of examinations performed on large material, the mechanism of the disturbances associated with locomotor diseases may also be theoretically explained. Recent examinations may yield precious help also for the evaluation of the results of the manipulation therapy.
