Abstract

The authors present the results of intrauterine insemination treatments performed between 1994-2003 at the Division of Assisted Reproduction of the 1st Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Semmel weis University Faculty of Medicine. The indications of the treatments were unknown or male factor infertility. 2508 consecutive homologous intrauterine insemination cycles were evaluated. 259 pregnancies were achieved, the pregnancy rate per cycle was 10.3%, the cumulative pregnancy rate was 27%. The highest pregnancy rate was found in group of patients treated with combined clomiphene + gonadotropin stimulation. At patients over 35 years the pregnancy rate decreased to 8.1%.
