Estimation of maximum electrical resistivity of high Tc superconducting ceramics by the meissner effect

Abstract

The observation of persistent current decay is one of the best probes of superconducting state. Non-decaying persistent current induced by Meissner effect has been observed in an YBaCuO ceramics superconductor for 12 days /10-6s/. From the measurements an upper limit of 7 × 10-23 cm can be given for the resistivity of the ceramic superconductor at liquid nitrogen temperature.
