Abstract

The method proposed in this paper estimates the roughness of the road surface by using a linear parameter varying mode] of a suspension system. In this model nonlinear components of the suspension system are taken into consideration. The characterization of the road is performed by using the wavelet transformation method. In the estimation process the control dynamics are considered to be unmeasured signals, for this reason, these signals must be detected and filtered out. Finally, demonstration examples show the results of the proposed approach.
