The essential oil of Anthriscus cerefolium (L.) Hoffm. (Chervil), which was produced from plant material growing wild in Hungary, was examined by a combination of peak enrichment and GC/MS. Approximately 95% of the oil comprised of undecane, methyl chavicol (syn. estragole) and l-allyl-2, 4-dimethoxybenzene. Anethole was found only in traces.
