Electrostatic electron spectrometer based on two cylinders without axial symmetry

The calculated electron-optical properties of a mirror type electrostatic electron spectrometer are presented. The analyzer consists of two cylinders without axial symmetry. We show that a spectrometer having such a construction has second-order focusing properties with remarkable dispersion.
