Electron self-energy for higher excited S levels

The one-photon electron self-energy for the higher excited hydrogenic bound states was described. The S states could be excited from the ground state using Doppler-free two-photon spectroscopy. The self-energy remainder function GSE was found to be in good agreement with the fundamental physical constants. The data collected illustrated the numerical calculation of the self-energy of the electrons for 3S and 4S states.
