An investigation of polythiophene and poly-isothianaphthene

Abstract

The Raman spectra of Polythiophene (PT), Oligomers of Thiophene, and Poly-Isothianaphthene (PITN) were investigated in terms of the effective conjugation coordinate model. Lattice dynamical calculations were performed, and the results were compared to experimental line positions and intensities found in the literature and from our own experiment. Moreover the transition from a quinonoid to an aromatic character of the PITN backbone with doping was simulated.
